Wil Petre is a performer/creator/designer of intimate performance in public spaces.  As a part of the Immersive Theater landscape in New York City, Wil was a part of the original creative cast of Queen of the Night, the 2015 Drama Desk recipient for Unique Theatrical Experience.  With The Windmill Factory, he was a part of the 2014 Future of Storytelling Summit in Snug Harbor, Staten Island.  In the fall of 2014, Wil played in the live-action-role-play workshop of The Universe is a Small Hat, an interactive space-colony musical conceived by César Alvarez.  He occasionally performs boylesque under the name Handsom Petr.

As a performer/collaborator, Wil has been a company member of Witness Relocation, a raucous physical theater troupe, since 2007.  With WR, he has co-created and performed in 8+ dance-theater pieces, 1 short film, and dozens of highly staged readings.  He collaborated with Theater Mitu, on a piece named Chaos, as a guest artist in residence with NYU Abu Dhabi.  Chaos was the United Arab Emirates first ever in-nation rehearsed/produced/performed theatrical production.  Wil is also a company member of Animals Performance Group, named one of Paper Magazine's Beautiful People in 2013.

As an actor-for-hire, Wil has worked with Les Freres Corbusier/Alex Timbers, John Clancy/Clancy Productions, TR Warszawa, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Playwright's Horizons, Cherry Lane, La MaMa ETC, St. Ann's Warehouse, Ars Nova, Incubator Arts (RIP), and Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

His work has traveled him to Brest France, Edinburgh UK, Abu Dhabi UAE, and (via skype) the homes of residents of Wroclaw Poland.  On camera, he has shot many commercials, webseries, tv pilots, and short films, some of which have played festivals in Sundance, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York.

Wil received his BFA w/ honors in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts (Playwrights Horizons Theater School, The Classical Studio), under the mentorship of Louis Scheeder, Maureen Pennison, Anne Kauffman, and Michael Krass.  He splits time between Los Angeles and New York.  In LA he is currently developing a new experience-for-one exploring the intimacy between the bartender and his customer, and a darkly comedic on-camera project tentatively titled, "A Gentleman's Reminder," instructing the masses on the art of etiquette in today's complex modern world.  This fall in Brooklyn, NY, Wil will be a part of the original creative cast of Third Rail Projects' large-scale immersive theater piece, The Grand Paradise.
